Central Elementary 1st Day of School Message

Update regarding the start of school for CES parents and families:
As we prepare to return to school face to face or through our distance learning model, we would like to provide reminders of new procedures and processes. For details please see the attached reopening plan and take note of building specific guidelines.
Each building has designated entries specific to bus riders, car riders, and walkers. This is to ensure all students have completed the temperature screenings that are required daily. ALL students, Preschool through 12th grade will be required to wear face masks upon entry to buses and buildings. Water fountains have been turned off and replaced with bottle filling stations, please provide a water bottle for your child. It is important that all families complete the at home screening criteria each day before your student comes to school.
Specific  to the elementary building- One of many precautions that we are taking includes the installation of plexi glass barriers to be used on desks and tables where six feet of social distancing cannot be maintained. These materials have been delayed in their arrival, but will be installed as soon as they are available. We expect to have these precautions in place at the latest, by the end of the week. We will keep you updated with the status of this piece of the plan. We understand that many of you made schooling decisions based on the provided details of the reopening plan. If you feel that your student cannot attend until these conditions have been completed, please notify the school as we will make alternative arrangements for your student(s). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however we want to maintain open communication with our families so they can make the best decisions for their families. This experience has faced us with many obstacles that we have had to get creative and adjust to, please know we are doing our best to get our kids back to school all while providing the safest environment for all students and staff.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. My cell is 620-222-2765. I welcome texts, calls and emails and want to be available as we navigate this year's reopening.
The staff and myself are so excited to be together again- I hope you and your kiddos are just as excited to be back with their friends and school community. We know how blessed we are to have students back and we thank you all for helping us get here!
